Federal College of Education, Pankshin News Flash

The management of the college wishes to notify all JAMB candidates both NCE, and Degree that indicated Federal College of Education Pankshin as their 1st, 2nd or 3rd Choice and got the required cut – off point of 180 and above that there will be a POST- JAMB Examinations schedule as follows

Date: Friday 30th July 2010
Venue: School Premises
Time: 8:00am in the morning

Other qualified JAMB candidate both NCE and Degree with the cut-off point of 180 and above who did not select FCE, Pankshin as their 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice, but are now interested in coming to the college can also come and write the POST-JAMB Examinations for possible consideration for admission.

Those who filled the direct entry forms for both NCE and Degree programmes of the college are also invited for the POST-JAMB Examinations.

NB: All category of students coming for the POST-JAMB Examinations in the college on Friday 30th July, 2010 are notified that they are expected to pay the sum of N2,000 at the college bursary on or before Friday, 30th July, 2010.


Governing Council Chairman
Chief Barr. Onyemuchi Nnamani

The College has an eleven man Governing Council as constituted by Government in all Public Establishments across the country.
The Council is headed by a tested Administrator, Politician, Lawyer, a successful Businessman, philanthropist and a Traditional title holder, Chief Barrister Onyemuchi Nnamani.
He hails from Enugu state and was one time the Secretary to the Enugu State government during the Governorship of Chief Chimaroke Nnamani.
Within the period of his headship as chairman of the College Governing Council, Barrister Nnamani has exhibited leadership qualities which has portrayed the body as a family with the College as direct beneficiary.
Barrister Nnamani is married with children.


THE PROVOST, FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION PANKSHIN.
Professor David Longwap Wonang
Professor David Longwap Wonang is the current Provost of the Federal College of Education Pankshin, Plateau state.
He assumed duties on 14th February 2008 after a successful interview and was found qualified to be appointed by government.
The tenure is for four years in the first instance.
Professor David L. Wonang is a Plant Pathologist and before his appointment was a professor with the Botany Department of the University of Jos.
The Provost is a professional teacher to the core, having obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education in 2006 from the University of Jos and registered with the Teachers Registration Council in 2008.
He hails from Bumnan in Takkas village of Pankshin Local government area of Plateau state and is married with five children.
The Provost has over thirty three scholastic honours to his credit as well as numerous academic publications published in reputable Journals across the globe.
He is a member of several professional bodies including the Botanical Society of Nigeria, Seed Pathology Society of Nigeria and Fellow Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria among others. E-mail wonangd@unijos.edu.ng.

THE DEPUTY PROVOST, FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, PANKSHIN
Chief Amos Bulus Cirfat, Fstan JP

The Deputy Provost of the Federal College of Education Pankshin is Chief Amos Bulus Cirfat, Fstan JP.
He was first appointed to the position on the 17th June, 2008 for a tenure of two years and was found worthy for reappointment in June 2010 for another two year term.
Chief Amos Bulus Cirfat, Fstan, JP, is a Chief Lecturer and a teacher to the core and specializes in Biology which he has been teaching for over thirty years.
The Deputy Provost is currently a Ph.D candidate at the Benue State University Makurdi and also an External Examiner to College of Education Gindiri, Kafanchan and Akwanga respectively.
He has also served on the accreditation teams to FCE Katsina, Isa Kaita College of Education Katsina, College of Education Waka – Biu, Borno state and College of Education Gashua, Yobe state.
Chief Cirfat is a Fellow of the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria Fstan, an elder of the COCIN church, member Biology Panel of STAN and a Jerusalem pilgrim among other honours.
He hails from Kwanpe in Langtang North Local government area of Plateau state and is married with four children and has well over thirty academic publications to his credit. Email: cirfatamos@yahoo.com


THE REGISTRAR, FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, PANKSHIN
Chief Chetsan Diyelman Yakse

The current Registrar of the Federal College of Education, Pankshin is Chief Chetsan Diyelman Yakse. He is also the Garkuwan Panyam in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau state.
He is a seasoned and tested administrator who has had successful exploits in the tertiary institution especially in human Management and manpower development for over twenty years.
The Registrar who has a humble background is from Panyam and started experiencing leadership challenges as Head-Boy from the famous Boys’ Secondary School, Gindiri, which prepared him for the challenges ahead.
He was appointed Registrar on 28th October, 2009 after a successful interview and was found worthy for the position as endorsed by the College Governing Council for a five year tenure in the first instance.
The Registrar holds a National Diploma in Secretarial Administration and B.A. (Hons) Mass Communication from the Kaduna Polytechnic and Bayero University Kano respectively.
Chief C.D. Yakse is the first Registrar to be appointed from within the system and before then he had served in various sections of the Registry Department and was also a member and secretary of different committees in the College, such as SERVICOM, Staff Development Committee, etc.
He is a member of several professional bodies among which are the Nigerian Institute of Management, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (AMNIPR), with a well researched work on “Crisis Management in Tertiary Institutions” to his credit.

THE COLLEGE BURSAR
Mr Chrysanthus Dawam

The College Bursary is headed by Chrysanthus Dawam CNA, CPA.
He is a member of the National Accountants of Nigeria and the Institute of Certified Public Administrators of Nigeria.
He was first appointed to the position in August 2007 for a tenure of five years in the first instance after a fruitful interview.
Chrysanthus Dawam is a seasoned accountant with over 30 years experience in higher institution of learning.
He is married with children.


THE COLLEGE LIBRARIAN
Mr. Bulus Caleb Damen

The College Library Department is headed by a veteran Librarian who was tested and found worthy for appointment by Government.
He is Mr. Bulus Caleb Damen, BLS, MLS with over twenty years experience in that discipline.
Bulus Caleb Damen was first appointed to that position in August 2007 for a five year tenure in the first instance after a successful interview.
The Librarian is a member of the Nigerian Library Association and currently the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Library Association, Plateau state chapter.
He is married with children.

Gotep, Miri Dugu

The Director of Works and services of the Federal College of Education is Arc. Gotep, Miri Dugu/, born 23rd August, 1960. He has spent most of his working years in different tertiary Institution and has vast Experience in the Management of assets, maintenance works and projects actualization:-
He assumed the position of Director of Works of the College in January, 2001 from the Federal Polytechnic Idah where he served as Ag. Director of Works and Services for four (4) years.
A graduate of B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Architecture of the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. He is a registered member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.
